Fifty Years! This year the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) celebrates its 50th Anniversary at the national convention in April in Baltimore. Now more than ever AFP is positioned to support you professionally through educational, networking and advancement opportunities. Make sure you take advantage of the great events scheduled in 2010. Get to know your peers by attending and or volunteering to help with an event.
Your 2010 Board of Directors has been working very hard to provide you with more value for your membership. This year in addition to our great monthly meetings and Newbie Round Table at the Riverside Hotel, we are co-hosting Planet Philanthropy with AFP Palm Beach and Miami-Dade chapters, hosting a two day CFRE review course, celebrating National Philanthropy Day with our annual luncheon and offering four member networking socials.
We also have designated one luncheon this year as “Bring Your Executive Director to Lunch” where our chapter will be hosting executive directors as our guests so they can learn more about the value of an AFP membership. Additionally, we have increased the scholarship budget from $1,000 to $5,000 so more members can take part in these timely opportunities for professional and personal growth. We hope you get involved.
