You are Invited to Submit a Nomination for the Annual Celebration of Philanthropy.

National Philanthropy Day is the special day set aside to recognize and pay tribute to the great contributions that philanthropy – and those people active in the philanthropic community – have made to our lives, our communities, and our world. Celebrations are held annually in many states across the nation.

Nomination Process

The nomination process is simple. Just complete the nomination form and narrative, and submit it with support material. Additional nomination forms, detailed instructions and suggestions for a strong application can be accessed below. All nominations must be received by Tuesday, August 31, 2010. See steps for submission below.

Winners will be selected by a committee comprised of community leaders from the nonprofit and for-profit sectors, and past award recipients.

COMPLETE NOMINATIONS MAY BE SUBMITTED IN TWO WAYS:

  1. Online Submission
    The National Philanthropy Day online submission process is hosted by BlackTie South Florida. By using this method, you will be able to complete the entire nomination process online including the uploading of support materials. Once you set up an account with an email address and password, you will be able to save your work and complete the nomination process at your convenience.
     
  2. Email Submission
    By using this method, you will be able to download the application as a PDF, complete it electronically, and save it on your computer. It can then be submitted via e-mail along with the narrative and support materials as attachments. The narrative should be no more than 1500 words and supporting material is limited to two documents, including items such as newspaper clippings, board member letters or letters from those directly impacted by your philanthropist’s contributions. Submit via e-mail to: AFP-Broward@att.net and use NPD Nomination in the Subject Line.

NOTE: Each method of delivery must include nomination form, narrative and support materials. Separate delivery of any items will not be accepted. Completed nominations must be received by 5:00 p.m., August 31, 2010.

The selection process will take place in early September and all nominators will be contacted by phone or mail by mid September. This year’s luncheon to honor the awardees will be held on Wednesday, November 10 at the Signature Grand.
