and Professional Development Committee
This
committee gathers information from members regarding
desired trainings, speakers, and then plans the annual
events calendar for AFP Washington.
This
committee stewards current AFP Washington members and
works to recruit new members to the AFP network.
This
committee is responsible for coordinating email alerts,
newsletters and website information for the membership.
National
Philanthropy Day Committee
This
committee plans and produces the National Philanthropy
Day event held every November. This AFP Washington-sponsored
event is one of the largest of its kind in the country.
The
AFP Board of Directors is a dedicated group of professionals
who guide the direction of the organization.

AFP
Foundation - The Every Member Campaign
Over
30 years ago, the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy
was established to raise funds and support AFP´s programs
and leadership - beyond what membership dues can provide.
The Every Member Campaign is how, as professional
fundraisers, we can "give back" to support
services and resources that help us as fundraisers
bring together nonprofits and donors.
The
Foundation has been able to fund AFP initiatives that
benefit members, increase accessibility to educational
programs, fund new and innovative research, and conduct
public education programs to enhance the environment
for philanthropy.
Your
support assists AFP in expanding programs and resources
such as:
The
Essentials of Fundraising -- a series of classes developed
to meet the real-world needs and challenges nonprofit
organizations face every day, an invaluable resource
for new and entry-level fundraisers.
Expanded
technology resources that reach more professionals
with information, including online communities and
eWire.
Mentoring
opportunities.

Regional
conferences and workshops.

The
growth of educational publications, such as Advancing
Philanthropy and AFP´s Ready Reference
Series.

AFP
Research Council grants that provide us with valuable
information on new donor trends, regulatory and
economic impact, and more.
