Carol McKeever is Director of Development at the Lighthouse of Broward whose mission is to teach blindness skills to blind and severely impaired babies, children and adults. Carol is the VP membership for AFP Broward Chapter and serves on the National Philanthropy Day Committee.

Kathryn started her fundraising career 18 years ago in the Alumni & Development Office at Mount Allison University in Sackville, NB, Canada, where she served as an Annual Fund Supervisor. Before joining JASF, Kathryn guided the Broward Chapter of the American Red Cross in all of their development and communications efforts for seven years. The Association of Fundraising Professionals of Broward County awarded Kathryn the prestigious “Outstanding Fundraising Executive” award in 2006 Kathryn has been an internationally-recognized Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) since 2006.

Vanessa Molina is the Annual Giving Coordinator at Holy Cross Hospital, Broward County’s only full-service, religiously affiliated nonprofit hospital. Prior to her role with Holy Cross Hospital, Vanessa managed fundraising and grant making for the Sun-Sentinel Children’s Fund at Sun-Sentinel Company. She graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree.

Eric Combast is the Development Director for the International Game Fish Association. He is currently overseeing the IGFA's "Campaign for Game Fish Conservation," which is a $15,000,000 fundraising campaign to support game fish conservation and education. Prior to joining the IGFA Eric was the Vice President of Development for the Alzheimer's Association, Southeast Florida Chapter.

Danay is the VP of Development for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Broward, whose mission is to transform the community by providing and supporting high quality relationships between children and a caring, well trained adult mentors. Prior to joining BBBS, Danay was the Charities Manager for the Sun-Sentinel and has served on multiple boards, including Hispanic Unity, ASPIRA Broward and Donors Forum of South Florida.

Meredith D. Ray Feder, Senior Development Officer, joined the staff at Starlight Starbright as the Development Officer in November 2005 after relocating to south Florida with her husband, Jason Feder, who has since established his own law practice in the area. Prior to joining Starlight Starbright, Meredith served as the Director of Development for Lee’s Place, a non-profit grief and loss counseling center for three years. She received her MA from Florida State University, her BA from University of West Florida and a certificate in the Appraisal of Fine and Decorative Art from New York University.

Doris K. Sipos, MA, CFRE has worked in the field of philanthropy for over 30 years and has raised more than 100 million dollars for the non-profit community, working primarily in higher education and healthcare. She is the co-founder of the Partnership In Philanthropy, which enables small non-profits to enhance their capacity to serve the community. Doris retired in 2002 as Executive Director of the Memorial Foundation and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation, in Hollywood, Florida, and founded a consulting firm, Philanthropic Development Solutions. A member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Doris has served on the National Board of Directors of the organization, as well as on its Foundation Board. She has been honored by her peers with the Robert J. Smythe Award as Outstanding Professional Fundraiser in New Jersey, and was honored as Outstanding Professional Fundraiser in Broward County, Florida, in 2002.

Peggy Hooper is the Director of Estate Planning for Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe Counties and the Eastern area of the North Region of the Florida Division of the American Cancer Society. Prior to joining the American Cancer Society, Florida Division, Peggy was a Financial Planner with Morgan Stanley, and with Paine Webber on the New York Stock Exchange, giving her valuable knowledge and experience in charitable giving.

Prior to working in the charitable area, Diana and her husband owned Flightplan International, an aviation consulting and brokerage firm.  During that time, she was involved on a volunteer level with several organizations, becoming President of PAWS and the 1000+ Club of the ACS.  The volunteer experience gave her a valuable insight when dealing with donors and volunteers.  Prior to joining Junior Achievement, Diana worked for the American Red Cross Broward County.

After 28 good years as a development professional in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties, Rick is enjoying his time coordinating an endowment campaign for his synagogue and creating a supporting foundation.  In his career, he has worked in health care, higher education and public safety.  He is a generalist with a strong background in foundation administration, case development and in managing those things that need to be reduced to order in order to raise money.   Rick has served the AFP Broward Chapter as Treasurer, Chair of National Philanthropy Day and done all sorts of other stuff for the advancement of the profession.

Before joining Legal Aid, Kathleen was Director of Sales and Marketing for Budget Rent a Car in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and St. Louis, Missouri.

Kathleen has been a member of AFP/Broward County Chapter since 2003 and prior to serving as Treasurer, participated in National Philanthropy Day by serving as Co-chair of Table Honorees for two years.

Jennifer Stewart is the Director of Development at Women in Distress, Broward County’s only state certified, nationally accredited full service domestic violence program.  Prior to her role as the development director, Jennifer served as the Agency’s Manager of Grants & Foundations for approximately three years.  Before entering the nonprofit field, she has held positions in marketing and event management in the corporate and media sector.  Jennifer serves as the Secretary for the Broward AFP chapter.

Peggy Calhoun, an Advanced Certified Fundraising Executive, has served 30 years as a full time fundraising professional. She is Senior Principal of Miller, Calhoun and Company, a firm credited with having been involved in more than $750 million raised for charities including health organizations, social service agencies, educational institutions, and cultural and religious organizations.

She began her career in 1978 as Executive Director of a crisis intervention agency serving three states. Her extensive staff professional experience includes raising $3.7 million in nine months for the Boca Raton Museum of Art, overseeing a $60 million national campaign for the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation at the University of Miami School of Medicine, and successfully concluding a capital campaign while increasing the endowment from $2.6 million to $10 million – for The Salvation Army in Fort Lauderdale. In 1998, Ms. Calhoun became the 33rd professional to receive the lifetime accreditation of the Advanced Certified Fundraising Executive; a distinction earned by only 81 colleagues of the 29,000 members of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Terri is an accomplished director, manager and fund-raising professional with more than 15 years of progressive experience in not-for-profit management, special events, corporate giving, grant writing and solicitation, fund and program development, and evaluation experience. With more than 20 years of business experience in sales and marketing, she also has proven success in cultivating new business and relationship-building and -development. She has a M.B.A. degree from St. Thomas University, Miami, Florida and received her bachelor’s degree from Barry University in Miami, Florida. Terri is an active member of Leadership Broward Foundation (Class XXIV), Association of Fundraising Professionals (Board Member), American Association of Grant Professionals, Florida Association of Nonprofit Organizations and Marine Industry Association of South Florida.
